TRAINING - User Centred DesignBackground Corporate Solutions offers training courses in user centred design. The content of these courses can be tailored to suit the needs and availability of staff and can be conducted on or off site. Our Approach Who should attend? Our courses have been found valuable to those who have responsibility for, or input to, the design or development of interactive applications; be this in a management or technical role. Attendees learn the necessary skills to design user interfaces in an effective and controlled manner. Courses are a mix of presentations and exercises. Attendees are given much opportunity to practice what they learn. The following offers an outline of a typical course. Introduction: Overview of user centred design and discussion of its importance to project success Project Proposing and Planning: How to justify and plan a design project. User Requirements Analysis: Techniques for the analysis and documenting of user requirements including the setting of usability criteria. Design: How to design and specify user interfaces that meet agreed usability criteria. Usability Engineering: Testing designs using low fidelity mock-ups or prototyping tools. User Interface Development: Ensuring designs are developed as intended.
