STRATUS is a STructured Risk Assessment Tool for Usable Systems.

The tool has recently been developed by Corporate Solutions to address the lack of a structured approach for assessing risks to projects that have a high degree of user involvement and ownership.

STRATUS is comprised of three phases: risk identification, risk analysis and risk management. The tool can be used with project teams or a key stakeholder. It is based on a detailed interview which identifies risk items and rates them with respect to their seriousness and likelihood. This data is used to identify risk factors, calculate risk values and plot risk management graphs. The graphs are then used to produce a detailed risk management plan covering the definition of risk owners, risk monitoring procedures, and risk mitigation strategies.
