Costs and Timing

It is unwise to underestimate the value of accurate and complete requirements analysis.  Inaccurate requirements become increasingly expensive to correct as a project progresses.  As a rule of thumb, it is ten times more expensive to correct an inaccuracy in a design specification than one in a requirement specification.
